Mason School of Art opening four positions at the Assistant or Associate rank to support our Design programs!

Have you been considering applying for a position in Higher Education?

Now is the time!

The Mason School of Art is currently seeking a diverse range of applicants to fill four positions at the Assistant or Associate rank to support our Design programs. The available positions include both tenure track and term appointments.

George Mason University is a Carnegie Tier 1 Research [R1] university located in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and is the largest public university in Virginia, with the most diverse student body in the state.

The selected candidate will have a broad range of skills and expertise in design and is expected to teach courses across the School. We are particularly interested in finding a candidate who can round out the strengths of existing faculty (one or more of the following backgrounds or abilities are particularly desired): UI/UX design, motion design, environmental design, publishing/book arts, design theory, design thinking, and hybrid design practices. The Design program within the School of Art is a growing program and we are interested in faculty who can contribute to further curriculum development, including expansion of both undergraduate and graduate programs in Design.

In addition to teaching, the selected candidates will be expected to engage in professional creative research and perform service in alignment with the type of appointment.

This is a very exciting time at the Mason School of Art as we look to the future of our programs. If you or someone you know fits the description of the position, please apply here.
