Adobe PDF Presets

Exporting your documents as PDFs using our PDF presets simplifies the export process and ensures that your files will print properly. (See the File Preparation Guide for more information.)

To install the PDF presets into all of your Creative Suite applications.

Import PDF presets with Acrobat Distiller (included with Adobe Acrobat Pro).

• Double-click one of the PDF preset files (.joboptions extension).
• When Acrobat Distiller opens, click OK in the window that pops
• Repeat Steps 1 & 2 for each PDF preset
• Quit Distiller

NOTE: If you do not have Acrobat Distiller, you may import the files directly through Illustrator or InDesign.

Illustrator:

• Choose Edit > Adobe PDF Presets
• Click Import
• Select a PDF preset file (.joboptions extension) and click Open
• Click OK
• Repeat Steps 3 & 4 for each PDF preset

InDesign:

• Choose File > Adobe PDF Presets > Define
• Click Load
• Select a PDF preset file (.joboptions extension) and click Open
• Click Done
• Repeat Steps 3 & 4 for each PDF preset
