Migratory Aesthetics

Migratory Aesthetics

Event Details

This exhibition displays the work of 11 contemporary Latin American artists whose work has been influenced by personal experiences of migration. Their artworks reject borders but share common experiences of departure, discovery, abandonment, uprooting, rupture, pilgrimage, and reconstruction. These deterritorialized artists generate mestizo identities and create new definitions of their environment through their migratory aesthetics. The exhibition leads viewers through these transitional stages to reflect on the realities of migratory transformation.
