Gillespie Gallery of Art

The Gillespie Gallery of Art at George Mason University is committed to the presentation of innovative new art and creating a forum for active dialogue, research, and engagement with contemporary visual ideas and artistic practices.

Located in the School of Art (SOA) on the Fairfax campus of George Mason University, Gillespie Gallery of Art offers a diverse program of exhibitions by emerging and established contemporary artists, thesis exhibits by current MFA candidates, and a semi-annual SOA undergraduate senior exhibition. This link to numerous shows and other student works presents a wide sampling of art and artists, as well as the processes involved in their creation.

Public Transportation

Metro: Take the Metro Orange line toward Vienna to the Vienna Metro Station. Exit the platform to the north to catch the Metro to Mason Shuttle. Please visit http://shuttle.gmu.edu/ for current shuttle schedules.

Bus: The City of Fairfax bus system is called the CUE Bus. Please visit http://www.fairfaxva.gov/government/public-works/transportation-division/cue-bus for current schedules and fare information.

Driving

George Mason University can be reached via I-66, I-495 (Capital Beltway), I-95 or Route 50. Please visit the following link for specific directions from each.

Parking

Visitor parking is available in all parking garages and can be accessed via Patriot Circle, which goes around the campus once you have entered off of Braddock, 123, or University Drive.

To the Fine Arts Gallery: Take Patriot Circle to Sandy Creek Way. Take the first left for visitor parking in Shenandoah Parking Deck. Take the elevator to the third floor and go right to enter campus. Research Hall will be on your left and Enterprise Hall on your right. Head straight on the path and the Art and Design building will be the next building on the left. The gallery is located on the main floor directly to your right as you enter the building.

Note: There is a fee to park in the garages on campus. All other lots are by permit only.
