16 Nov Space Talk with Professor Will Wheeler: Spring 2021 Student Roundtable Series
Although the name alludes to sci-fi, this isn’t the sort of sci-fi you were probably looking for. Here, we are talking about space in its most broad and literal sense—as room to include or exclude. As 2020 dramatically altered our lifestyles and even our values, we seek to take on this issue of space and inclusion with students, rather than faculty, as our guides. Students deserve a space to speak and be heard about matters of identity, equality, and inclusion where their grade is not at stake. Faculty, staff, and administrators need to hear what students have to say. Using artworks, memes, headlines, quotes, and anecdotes as jumping off points, students will investigate social topics including race, politics, gender, ability, and happiness.
